KERRANG! is a music magazine dedicated to all the different styles of rock music. The frst thing I notice when I first see the cover of Kerrang is that it is very visually dominated. There is the mian masthead at the top reading 'KERRANG' with a few cover lines above it, this dominates the top of the page and advertises the name of the magazine well. The next main text I notice is the main headline in the middle of the page which is covering the main article of the magazine. It then features some straplines underneath it relating to the headline above it, this may also be classified as a lure because fans of the bands named would want to read more about them.
The layout of the front page is based around graphics being used as the background with a tiled effect. These graphics are also relating back to the main headline with pictures of the bands featuring in the article. There are then additional pictures in the bottom left hand corner which don't relate to the headline but instead are a free giveaway of posters, this could be very useful when appealing to it's target market.
KERRANG!'s house style is always using very bold fonts and always using capital letters on their front covers. A house style for this magazine could also be the amount of graphics that are used for the magazine. This could show that KERRANG!s target audience are those that are drawn in by colourful interesting graphics. However there doesn't seem to be much of a colour scheme for this front cover other than the colour of the font which rotates between white and a gold colour. The rest of the colours of the cover seem to be whatever the artists of in the background seem to be wearing. I do like the whole look of the cover though, i class myself as part of the target market for this magazine and if i saw it on a shelf i would deffinately think about buying it, and it least pick it up to have a look.
