This is the design that I aim to use for my final contents page design. The image that is with this post features photos that are not mine, so i aim to take a few pictures which correspond with the coloure scheme and then replace the current pictures on the design with the ones that I have taken myself. If however i struggle to capture the colour scheme of the page, i shall alter the colour scheme to match the photos.

Details for my magazine
I have chosen to design my magazine around the genre of music that is, Hard Dance. I have chosen this as it is a style of music that has had very little press through media and there is deffinately not a big specialised magazine on the genre. I also have a large section of knowledge on this topic so i shouldn't struggle with finding material for articles in it.
The name that i have chosen to brand my music magazine on is 'Decibel'. I like this name as it has a strong link to music and is usually used alot in the terms of hard dance. I also think that it has a good, catchy sound to it and this would increase the chances of sales of my magazine. I will cover a range of different articles and sections in my magazine which will all have relevance to the music genre, 'Hard Dance'. The different types of articles will include storys on Big Dj names, Interviews with Big DJ names, up and coming DJs to look for in the future, New album reviews, Local events and gigs as well as many others.
I think because this style of music is quite underground and there isn't as big following as there may be for rock or pop, that my magazine should only be published monthly. It have also chosen to market the mag for a price of £2.50, as again it is pretty underground music, but because it is coming out monthly i will be able to fill the magazine with plenty more features and articles than i would be able to in a weekly magazine.
The photos that i will use will be ones of artists and DJs that fall under the Hard Dance genre, i will also feature images of events that have taken place all over the country and the world. These could be pictures from such events as Bionic or Qdance.

Font research
Here are five fonts that i have researched which i rekon would look good as a Masthead or banner on my magazine. I think that my favourite one out of the five is probable either soundpieces, or Tosca Zero as they both have a modern look about them and would look natural on a music magazines front cover.

Textual analysis of Mixmag's contents page
The contents page carries on a colour scheme for the text which was used on the front cover of the issue, which is a neon yellow and white colour. The font that is used for the text is a very simple block font which works well as it is easy to understand. The design of the font for the title of the page and the page numbers for the graphics are in a much more modern style though and correspond with the genre well. The mian focus of this page is the big graphic which dominates the majority of the page. the graphic is of a young women who is out partying and enjoying herself. This image corresponds with the genre of the magaizne and represents what this magazine is about, going out, and partying to good dance music. The story which the graphic is advertising is all about last minute ideas for going out on new years eve, this would be a big story for the people who read this magazine as they might not have any final plans for their new year celebrations.
The second graphic that is featured on the page is one which again corresponds with the main article on the front of the issue's cover. This again is a picture which might attract the target audience for this magazine. Down the right hand side of the page are cover lines which feature a couple of the main sections of the magaizne, under each main headline of the section there is a small lure under each which would entice the reader to that story. Running along the bottom of the page is a small section on a free gift that came with the magazine, the gift was a cd which had some of the main songs and acts from the past year on it. This is a good idea as people who buy this magazine will be interested in the music that comes with the cd as the songs are all big tunes created by some of the genre's biggest producers.
I think that there is a house style for the contents page for mixmag as i have viewed another contents of a different mixmag issue and there is a similar layout around the page with things such as the title of the magazine, date of the issue, and the word 'contents' along the top of the page. The colour scheme also seems to reoccur a few times, i think this is a good thing because it really goes well with the genre and style of the magazine.
I think that the style and layout of this magazine works very well and reaches out to it's target audience very well.
